He lived at 19 Waterloo Place, North Shields. and went to the Ralph Gardner School.
He joined the Merchant Navy, and died when S.S. Glenorchy of 8982 tons was hit by a torpedo from an E-boat 5 miles north-west of Kelibia Lt., Tunisia.
The Shields Daily News 17/06/1943 reads:
"Shields Engineer Lost At Sea.
The name of one local seaman who has lost his life at sea appears in the latest casualty list from the Ministry of War Transport. He is Thomas Wilkinson Foreman, assistant Engineer Officer of 19 Waterloo Place, North Shields."
He is remembered on our List of Ships’ crews
