J.W.D. Cozens
Durham Light Infantry
28th May 1918.

Also his wife
Adelaide Fanny
Cozens
died Aug.5th 1942.

John William Dent Cozens was born in South Shields and lived in Preston, North Shields. He married Adelaide Fanny (nee Southern) on 29th July 1913 and they had two children, both girls.

At the time of enlisting the family lived at 21 Ashfield Terrace West, Newcastle upon Tyne and John was a Professor of Music.

He enlisted on 11th December 1915 with the 25th Battalion before his transfer to the Labour Corps. He was admitted to 4th Northern General Hospital, Lincoln on 25th April 1918 suffering from Bails 965 disease, where he died the following month.
