Loader, T.H., A/Smn., 1917
On the Arras Memorial is the name of Kitchener P/296 Able Seaman Thomas Hall Loader serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 28/04/1917.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Thomas was born on 20th May 1895. He was working as a ships' chandler living with his parents, Thomas Hall and Sarah Anne at 99, Stephenson Street, North Shields when he enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers on 5th September 1914.

He transferred to the RNVR on 10th September 1914 and joined the Drake Battalion on 1st March 1915.

Thomas was invalided to the UK on 22nd September 1915 suffering from Catarrhal Jaundice and joined the Anson Battalion in France on 24th March 1917.

Thomas was killed in action on 28th April 1917.

Thomas Hall Loader is remembered in North Shields on N34.22 and N34.35 and in Tynemouth on T36.14 page 17.
