LONGBENTON

Acaster, R.W., civilian, 1941
Newcastle upon Tyne County Borough reported the death of Robert William Acaster.

The North East Diary 1939-45, states that a UP shell exploded on the roadway at Station Approach, Benton. (NZ277688). Two people were killed, three were seriously injured and one was slightly injured. The Clerk to Longbenton UDC, identified as Joseph Borman, died in the Sanderson Home, Gosforth.

A second casualty died in the R.V.I.

The third fatality was R.W. Acaster.
