Sgt. Davison was serving with 9 Squadron. He was a crew member of Lancaster I DV334 WS-C which took off from Bardney on a mission to Berlin. On the return the aircraft crashed on the approach to Gamston airfield in Nottinghamshire.

Tony Hibberd has provided photos of a memorial stone in the grounds of Milton Mausoleum in Nottinghamshire. It reads:

AVRO Lancaster DV334
In memory of the brave men
who died in an aircraft crash
near this site whilst serving
their country on 3rd December 1943.
