On the Tyne Cot Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the name of 19446 Private Robert Hood, serving with the 10th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 13/10/1917.

He was the son of John Simmonds Hood and Martha Hood, of 27, Whitfield Buildings, Longbenton.

Morpeth Herald 23/11/1917 carries a brief obituary:

News has been received by Mr and Mrs J.S. Hood, Longbenton, that their son, Private Robert William Hood, was killed in action on October 18th. This is their second son killed in action.

Robert Hood is remembered at Longbenton on L25.02 and L25.04
