Anderson, R.B., Pte., 1915
In Ridge Wood Military Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 13141 Private Robert B. Anderson, serving with the 9th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 09/08/1915.

Morpeth Herald 20/08/1915 carries a brief obituary:
Mr and Mrs John Anderson, of Railway Row, Dudley Colliery, received a letter last weekend from Lieut. Salter, of the 9th Batt. Northumberland Fusiliers in France, conveying the sad news that their son, Pte. Robert B. Anderson, of the 9th Batt. N.F. was killed by a bullet wound in the head on Monday, August 9th. Pte. Anderson, who joined the colours about 12 months ago, had only been at the front three weeks. He was 24 years of age, and worked at Dudley Colliery prior to joining the colours.

He is recorded as having attended Holystone Council School.
