Wireless Operator / Air Gunner
Royal Air Force
7th August 1941 age 21.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

F/Agt. Hemsley was killed when Avro Anson R9584 ZT-J of 20 O.T.U. (Operational Training Unit), which was lost on a training flight. The Anson suffered an engine failure, and crashed into high ground at Glen Avon, in the Cairngorms, with the loss of all six crew and two passengers.

George William Hemsley is remembered in Blyth on B42.23
