On the Singapore Memorial is the name of 626748 Sergeant Cecil Royston Forster Burnett, serving with the 152 Squadron Royal Air Force, who died 01/10/1944.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

Sgt. Burnett died whilst held as a Prisoner of War by the Japanese. He died aboard the ship Maros Maru, whilst being transported from Ambos Island to Java.

He is remembered in Blyth on B42.23 and B42.25
