The family headstone reads:

who was accidentally killed
on the N.E. Railway at Newsham
Sept. 2nd 1912 aged 47 years.
Margaret, his wife
died Dec. 23rd 1912, aged 43 years.
Pte. John Thomas Felton
only son of the above
died at the Royal Herbert
Military Hospital, Woolwich
Novr. 26th 1918,
after 3 years service in France
aged 27 years.
