In Blyth Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 9166 Private Thomas Brison, serving with the King's Own Scottish Borderers, who died 13/04/1919.

The headstone reads:

Loving memory of
Pte. Thomas Brison K.O.S.B.
beloved husband of
Kate Brison
of Newsham
who died April 13th 1919
aged 33 years.
