On the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the name of 23459 Lance Corporal S. Waters, serving with the 7th Battalion Canadian Infantry, who died 24/04/1915.

Morpeth Herald 14/05/1915 carries a brief obituary:

News has reached Blyth that Private [sic] S. Waters has been killed in action during the fighting in Flanders. Private Waters emigrated from Blyth to Canada, and was in the first British Columbia Regiment. He also went through the Boer War.

He is remembered at Blyth on B42.24
