“In the Ridley Park, Blyth, last night, Corporal Arthur Donkin was publicly presented by Lieut.-Col. Nicholson with the Military Medal, which had been awarded him for conspicuous war service. On behalf of the homecoming committee County Councillor C.T. Heatley presented Corporal Donkin with a gold watch as a war souvenir.”
