In Blyth (Cowpen) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 3259 Assistant Section Officer Hannah Patterson, serving with the Women's Auxiliary Air Force who died 02/04/1942.

The headstone reads:

3259 Asst. Sect. Officer W.A.A.F.
Hannah Patterson
died April 2nd 1942, aged 28 years.
dearly loved daughter of
Eleanor and the late Thomas Patterson,
Also the above
Eleanor Patterson
who died 23rd Oct. 1957, aged 80 years.
At rest.

A.S.O. Patterson died in County Hospital, York due to tuberculous meningitis.

Hannah Patterson is recorded on a plaque at R.A.F. Elvington, York.

She is remembered at Blyth on B42.19 and B42.23
