In Mill Road Cemetery, Thiepval, Somme, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 4001 Private Thomas Dryden, serving with the 1st/7th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 03/09/1916

Morpeth Herald 30/03/1917 carries the following:

Private Thomas Dryden is reported missing since September 17th. He is a son of Mr John Dryden, formerly of the Grey’s Inn, Clayport, Alnwick.

Morpeth Herald 20/07/1917 carries a brief obituary:

After being missing since 3rd September of last year, the death in action on that date is now reported of Private Thos. Dryden, 14 Craigside Place, Blyth.

He is remembered at Alnwick in the Battallion History and possibly as J. Dryden at Blyth on B42.13
