In Rheinburg War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1052337 Sergeant George Kensall, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 20/12/1943.

Sgt. Kensall was killed when Handley Page Halifax V LK928 NA-B of 428 Squadron, R.C.A.F., which was lost on a mission to Frankfurt. The Halifax crashed at Glees, about 4 miles North-West of Mendig, with the loss of six of the seven crew - only the pilot survived, to become a P.o.W.
