In Etaples Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 21/121 Private Thomas Turnbull, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 05/05/1917.

In Blyth (Cowpen) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

Loving memory

Pte. Richard Turnbull,
2nd Tyneside Scottish,
died 31st July 1916, from wounds
received in action, aged 20 years.
Pte. Joseph Turnbull
2nd Tyneside Scottish,
killed in action July 1st 1916,
aged 24 years.
Pte. Thomas Turnbull
2nd Tyneside Scottish,
died May 5th 1917 from wounds
received in action, aged 41 years.
Beloved sons of
John and Annie Turnbull
of Isabella Pit.
The above John Turnbull
died Feby. 1919, aged 65 years.
The above Annie Turnbull
died Feby. 22nd 1938, aged 81 years.

He was one of three brothers who served in the same regiment and who died.
