DIED IN JAPANESE WAR CAMPS
News has been received that the following have died while prisoners of war on Japanese hands:- Cpl. Ralph L. Holmes, husband of Mrs. D. M. Holmes, of 145a Plessey Road, Blyth, and only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Holmes, of 51, Wellington Street, Blyth, of beri-beri, at Raka, Island of Moena, on October 24, 1944.

He is remembered in Blyth on B42.23 and B42.25
