On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 945734 Sergeant John Flint, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 17/08/1941.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

Sgt. Flint was killed when Handley Page Hampden I AE239 of 44 Squadron, which was lost on a mission to Dusseldorf. The Hampden was lost in the North Sea, with the loss of all four crew members.
