Vose, G., Cpl., 1916
On the Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais, France, is the name of 9540 Corporal George Vose, serving with the 2nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 01/10/1915.

Morpeth Herald 14/01/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Mrs Vose, of 42 Jackson Street, Annitsford, who received intimation some weeks ago that her husband, Corpl. Geo. Vose, 2nd Batt. N.F., was missing, has now been notified that he has been killed in action. Corpl. Vose served through the Boer war and volunteered his services at the outbreak of the present war. He leaves a widow and 8 children.

He is remembered at Annitsford on A25.01, in A11.43 Book of Remembrance 5 R.N.F. 1914-18, page 20 and at Houghton le Spring on H132.09 and H132.11
