Menin Gate Memorial

On the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial is the name of 1756 Private John Edward Adams, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 26/04/1915.

Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in Lancaster and enlisted in Hexham.

In Ovingham Cemetery is a family headstone which is difficult to read, but which includes the names of "Their sons William who died May 21 1911 and John Edward ?missing . . .St. Julien 1915 aged ?25 years."

John Edward Adams is remembered at Wylam on W73.01 W73.02 and W73.03 at Hexham on H51.30 and at Prudhoe on P19.15
