In Cross Roads Cemetery, Fontaine-au-Bois, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 100337 Private Alfred Turnbull, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 23/10/1918.

Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in Horsley, enlisted in Newcastle and lived in Wylam. It also gives his service number as 100357.
