In Hexham (St Andrew’s) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of:

1473 Private
R. Wilson
Northumberland Fusiliers
6th August 1916.

Robert served in 'A' Company with the 1st/4th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers . He was admitted to hospital on 26th May 1915 suffering from Gastritis and was sent home by Hospital ship on 31st May 1915. He died at home (Giles Place, Hexham), aged 30 years.
