In Hexham (St. Andrew’s) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 1333052 Sergeant/Pilot Henry Basil Harrison serving with the Royal Air Force (Volunteer Reserve), who died 13/04/1943.

The family headstone reads:

proud & loving
memory of
Sgt. Henry Basil Harrison
(Pilot R.A.F.)
killed in action, 13th April 1943,
aged 22 years.

Henry Basil was born in the second quarter of 1921, the son Norman and Gertrude Harrison (nee Brown) of Sunderland. He died at Fridaythorpe, East Riding of Yorkshire.
