In St. John's Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of P/KX 93550 Leading Stoker William Turner, serving with the Royal Navy who died 06/04/1944.

The family headstone reads:

In loving memory of
1st Class Stoker
William Turner, the beloved husband of
Isabella Turner, died April 8th
1944 aged 25 years.

He is remembered in our List of Ships’ crews
