Morpeth Herald 13/04/1917 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR

BURRELL.- Missing since July 1st, 1916, now reported killed in action, Private William Burrell (840), 4th T.S., aged 26 years, the dearly beloved and only son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Burrell, of [5, Second Row], Choppington Colliery. –(Deeply mourned by father, mother, sisters, and brother-in-law).

He is remembered at Choppington on C36.01 and C36.04
