On the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, is the name of 23/840 Private William Burrell, serving with the 23rd (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 01/07/1916.

Morpeth Herald 13/04/1917 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR

BURRELL.- Missing since July 1st, 1916, now reported killed in action, Private William Burrell (840), 4th T.S., aged 26 years, the dearly beloved and only son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Burrell, of [5, Second Row], Choppington Colliery. –(Deeply mourned by father, mother, sisters, and brother-in-law).

He is remembered at Choppington on C36.01 and C36.04
