In Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 6183 Private William Brown, serving with the 10th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 21/09/1917.

William was the son of John George and Mary Brown, of 3, Rutherford Street, Guide Post, Choppington.

Morpeth Herald 26/10/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Private W. Brown, Guide Post, Choppington, died of wounds.

He is possibly remembered in Choppington on C36.01, C36.02 and C36.05. There were two men called "W. Brown" from Choppington but only one entry for "W. Brown" on these memorials, but nothing to discriminate them.
