On the Pozieres Memorial is the name of 15407 Private Thomas Dodds Miller, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 21/03/1918.

Derek Johnstone has provided the following:

Thomas Dodds Miller was born in 1884 at Choppington, Northumberland. His parents were Jacob, born in Hexham, and Mary Miller, born in Bedlington. There were seven children in the family in 1891, 4 boys and 3 girls. Thomas was aged six.

In 1901, Thomas was 16 and his family was living at Walker Terrace, Bedlington. At this time Thomas was a coal miner and his brother Michael is shown in the house aged 11.

Thomas married Dorothy Rutherford Davison in 1904. By 1911 they had two children, Andrew age six and Jacob, age one, living at 206, Yard Row, Netherton, a village near Bedlington, where Thomas now aged 27, was a miner at the colliery. Thomas was living at 86, Yard Row, Netherton when he enlisted at Bedlington. The Record of Enlistments shows Thomas died of wounds when a prisoner of war. However, his military records show he was killed in action.
