In Flatiron Copse Cemetery, Mametz, Somme France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 27/1381 Private Ralph Logan, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers (Tyneside Irish) 27th Battalion who died 08/09/1916.

Derek Johnstone has provided the following:

Ralph Logan was born at Bedlington, Northumberland on 17th September 1897 and christened at St. Bede’s Catholic Church at Bedlington on 30th October in the same year. He was the son of William Logan who was born in Ireland and Mary Ann Logan (nee Percy) born at Kelso in Scotland. In 1901, his family lived at Glebe Row, Bedlington. The 1911 Census shows his parents have been married for 28 years and there are the following children in the home, containing four rooms, at 17, South Row, Bedlington. They were Susannah 24, Ellen 22, Ralph 13 and William aged 9. At this time Ralph was working underground in a coal mine as a colliery trapper. His father worked as a colliery chargeman. Ralph was living at the family house at South Row, Bedlington when he enlisted at Bedlington. Records show his effects went to his mother Mary Ann Logan indicating Ralph was not married. CWGC information shows his parents in 1921 were living at Vulcan Place, Bedlington.
