In Anzac Cemetery Sailly-sur-la-Lys, Pas de Calais France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 235573 Private George Foggan, serving with the 9th Battaion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 25/09/1918.

Derek Johnstone has provided the following:

George Foggan was born at Bedlington, Northumberland in 1893 to parents Robert and Elizabeth Foggan (nee Todd). In 1901 the family was living at Front Street, Bedlington where George’s father was a butcher. In the house at this time were siblings Sarah 16, Edward 14, Barbara 5 and Marion 3 who were all born in Bedlington. George’s father died in 1905. By 1911, George was 19 years old, single and his family were living at Millbank Crescent, Bedlington. George worked in the coal mines as a stone labourer underground and enlisted at Newcastle when living at Front Street, Bedlington; he was formerly in the Northumberland Hussars (2nd Battalion), 2706.

George Foggan is remembered in Bedlington on B15.02 (where his name is spelled "Foggon"), B15.09, B15.20 and in B15.26 on page 92.
