In Chauny Communal Cemetery British Extension, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 457402 Lance Corporal Robert Dodds serving with the Royal Engineers (447th Field Company) who died 07/09/1918.

Derek Johnstone has provided the following:

Robert Dodds was born in Northgate, Mitford Morpeth in 1892 and was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Dalrymple Dodds (nee Holland). His mother died about 1901 and his father was married again in 1909 to Barbara Grace Buddles. Joseph lived with his family at Hirst Terrace, Bedlington where, in 1911, Robert, aged 19, was an apprentice to a joiner. Robert was living at 21, Millbank Terrace, Vulcan Place, Bedlington when he enlisted at Newcastle upon Tyne. There is no evidence to shows he was married. Robert went to France on the 7th August 1915. Information shows Robert died while a prisoner of war.
