Dixon, H., Gunner 1916

In Bouzincourt Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme France is the Commonwealth War Grave of 2264 Gunner Harry Dixon, serving with Royal Field Artillery, (No 4 Section 63rd Division Ammunition Column) who died 02/11/1916.

Harry Dixon was born in 1885 and his parents were Thomas and Mary Dixon. He enlisted in the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery at Newcastle while living at 1, Vicarage Terrace, Bedlington. In 1911, Harry, age 16, worked in the coal mines as an underground labourer but was not married. The document, detailing the awarding of his effects, shows that he was accidentally killed on the date shown.

He is remembered in Bedlington on B15.02, B15.06 and B15.20
