Patterson, J., Cpl., 1915
In Perth Cemetery (China Wall) is the Commonwealth War Grave of 2981 Corporal John Patterson, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 27/11/1915.

Derek Johnstone has provided the following:

John Patterson was born in 1886 and was the son of Mr James Patterson and Mrs Elizabeth Patterson. The family lived at 1 Hollymount, Bedlington when he enlisted at Durham. The CWGC records show he was the son of Mrs Elizabeth Patterson and the late Mr James Patterson (died 1907). In 1911, when aged 25 he was a school teacher. Records show his original grave was damaged during subsequent battles.

John Patterson is remembered in Bedlington on B15.01, B15.02, B15.03, B15.09, in B15.26 page 7 and in the D.L.I. Book of Remembrance page 323
