In Douai Communal Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 6253 Private Frederick Charles Henderson, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 04/10/1915.

Derek Johnstone has provided the following:

Charles Frederick Henderson was born in 1896 at 37 Newgate Street, Morpeth. In 1911, he was living at 18 Hambledon Street, Cowpen Quay, aged 14, and employed in the coal mines as a horse driver. When he enlisted at Bedlington he was living at 2 Foggan’s Yard, Bedlington. Charles was the son of John Coe Henderson and Sarah Ann Henderson. His death is recorded at St Clstilde Hospital, Donai.

He is remembered in Bedlington on B15.06 and B15.26
