Menin Gate Memorial

On the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial is the name of 767 Lance Corporal William John Henry Craze serving with 1st Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 27/07/1915.

Carole Fife has provided the following:

William is the elder brother of Robert who also died in France. He was the second child and elder son of Richard and Charlotte Craze, and was born in Bedlington in 1884. In 1901 the family were living at Bell's Place, Bedlington, and in 1911 they were at Old Colliery Row (also known as Pit Row), and William became a miner like his father and brother. In 1913 he married Frances Joise Mills and they had a son Henry.
