On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of 25/813 Lance Corporal Thomas Edward Colpitts serving with 25th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 01/07/1916.

Carole Fife has provided the following:

Some records spell his surname as Collpitts. Thomas was born 8th October 1895 in Bedlington, and was baptised 12 days later at St Bede's R.C. Church/ He was the second child of Thomas and Margaret Colpitts and his father was a miner. In 1901 the family were living at Bedlington Market Place, and in 1911 they were living at 23, North Terrace, later moving to Shiney Row. Thomas became a miner like his father, and as his legatee was his mother it is unlikely that he married.

His diary is in the Imperial War Museum.

Thomas Edward Colpitts is remembered at Bedlington on B15.02 T.E. Collpitts, B15.11 and B15.17 E. Collpitts and in B15.26 page 37
