In Niederzwehren Cemetery, Kassel is the Commonwealth War Grave of 34790 Private John Rowell, serving with the Yorkshire Regiment who died 11/11/1918.

Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in Blyth, enlisted in Newcastle and lived at North Seaton Colliery.

John Rowell is remembered in Ashington on A17.43 and in North Seaton on N33.03, where his regiment is given as Northumberland Fusiliers.
