On the Arras Memorial is the name of 21/908 Corporal George Beresford, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 03/05/1917.

Margaret Allison states that in 1911 his parents were living at 6 Third Row Ashington, and that he was 25 years old when he died.

He is remembered at Ashington on A17.06 A17.08 and A17.43 and in the Regimental Roll of Honour
