On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of 18/1564 Private George Westle, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 11/07/1916.

Margaret Allison states that in 1911 his address was High Back Close, Ashington.

George Westle is remembered in Ashington on A17.08 and A17.43 and in Hirst on H62.07

In the Battalion History pages 226 and 247 his service number is given as 1604. The number 1564 is given to somebody else.
