Price, J., A/Smn., 1916
In Ancre British Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel, Somme, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of Tyneside Z/3404 Able Seaman J. Price, serving with the Anson Battalion Royal Naval Division, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, who died 13/11/1916.

Morpeth Herald 26/01/1917 carries a brief obituary:
ROLL OF HONOUR
Killed in action, on Nov. 13th, 1916, aged 20 years and 8 months, A.B. John Price (Z3404T), Anson Batt., R.N.D, [of Ashington]- Will never be forgot by [his] sorrowing pals- Bob, Andy, Harry, Tony, Ned, Jack, Mark, Reuben, and J.B.

Margaret Allison states that in 1911 his address was 1 Chestnut Avenue and that he was aged 20 when he died..

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

John was born on 1st May 1896. He was working as a miner living with his mother, Mary Ann at 1, Chestnut Street, Ashington when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 16th January 1915.

John joined the Anson Battalion in France on 18th July 1915 and was posted as missing later reported as killed in action on 13th November 1916.

John Price is remembered in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27) A17.43 and in Hirst on H62.11
