Patterson, T.B.P., A/Smn., 1915
On the Helles Memorial is the name of Tyneside Z/1193 Thomas Blench Dodds Patterson, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 22/07/1915.

He was brother to George Patterson

Colin Boyd has provided the following:
Thomas was born on July 13th 1893. He was working as a miner living with his parents, Thomas and Anne at 54, Portia Street, Ashington when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on November 9th 1914.

He was posted to the Hawke Battalion on March 10th 1915 and on July 2nd 1915 he was sentenced to 7 days in cells for neglect of duty in a fire trench.

Thomas was killed in action in Gallipoli on July 22nd 1915.
