Logan, J.E., Pte., 1916
In Dernancourt Communal Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 265 Private James Ernest Logan, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 17/09/1916.

Margaret Allison says that he lived in Ashington, his wife's name was Hannah Ann.

Buckley's History of the Battalion lists him as "Sergt. E. Logan".

Soldiers Died in the Great War have him as Sergt. Ernest Logan, who was born in Chevington and enlisted in Ashington.

The CWGC entry gives his name as "Logan E.O."

He is remembered as "E. Logan" in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27) and A17.43 and as "Joseph Ernest Logan" on A17.08 and in the Battalion History
