Mrs Straughan, 289 Rosalind Street, Ashington, has received information that her brother, Private J. Lee, was killed in action on April 13th.

Margaret Allison reports that in 1911 he was living with his sister, Mrs Straughan at 37 Poplar Street, Ashington, and that he was aged 33 years when he died.

He is remembered in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27) and A17.43 at Alnwick in the Battalion History page 57 and at Morpeth on M17.29
