Huntley, J.R., Pte., 1917
In Ypres Reservoir Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the Commonwealth War Grave of M2/099939 Private John R. (Jack) Huntley, serving with the 884th M.T. Company Army Service Corps, who died 29/09/1917.

Morpeth Herald 26/10/1917 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR

HUNTLEY.- Killed in action, September 29th, Private Jack Huntley, motor transport, aged 22 years, dearly beloved and only surviving son of Nellie and the late Andrew Huntley, 150 Station Road, Ashington.- Deeply mourned.

Morpeth Herald 30/11/1917 carries the following:

Private Jack Huntley, A.S.C., Transport Section, of 150 Station Road, Ashington, has been killed in action.

Margaret Allison states that his address was 150 Station Road, Ashington, and that he was 22 years old when he died. He was killed whilst bringing in wounded soldiers.

He is remembered in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27), A17.06, A17.08 and A17.43
