Morpeth Herald 29/12/1916 carries the following:

Mrs Dunn, 137 Pont Street, Seaton Hirst, Ashington, has received official news that her husband, Sergt. George Dunn, has been missing since November 14th. Sergt. Dunn is the eldest son of Mr and Mrs John Dunn of 9 Manchester Street, Morpeth.

Morpeth Herald 05/01/1917 carries the above item again.

Morpeth Herald 14/12/1917 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR

DUNN.- Previously reported missing now reported dead, on the 14th November, 1916, Sergeant George Dunn, 23 years of age, dearly beloved husband of May Dunn, 202, Hawthorn Road, Seaton Hirst.

Margaret Allison states that his parents lived in Morpeth, and that his widow possibly married again and went to live in Canada.

George Dunn is remembered in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27) A17.22 and A17.43 and as Cpl. G Dunn on A17.06 and A17.24 and at Morpeth on M17.01, M17.09 and M17.29
