In Warlincourt Halte British Cemetery, Saulty, Pas de Calais, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 28/45 Private John William Nelson, serving with the 13th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 12/04/1917.

Morpeth Herald 27/04/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Signaller [sic] J.W. Nelson, Chestnut Street, Ashington, has died of wounds received in action in France.

Margaret Allison reports that he was born in Chestnut Street, Ashington.
