Cain, F., A/Smn., 1916
In Puchevillers British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of TZ/6356 Able Seaman Frank Cain, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 16/11/1916.

Margaret Allison gives his address in 1911 as 40 Mersey Terrace, Ashington.

Colin Boyd has submitted the following:

Frank was born on April 23rd 1892 and was working as a miner living with his father, Frank, at 82, Melburn Road, Ashington when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on July 27th 1915.

He was posted to the Drake Battalion in Gallipoli as a machine gunner. Following service with the Anson and Hood Battalions he rejoined the Drake Battalion in France on August 13th 1916 and died of wounds at 3rd Casualty Clearing Station on November 16th 1916.
