Preston, G., Sgt, 1945
In Cambrai (Route de Solesmes) Communal Cemetery, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1826725 Sergeant George Preston, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 14/02/1945.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:
Sgt Preston was the rear gunner of Avro Lancaster I PB686 KO-D of 115 Squadron, which was lost whilst returning from Operation Thunderclap, the bombing of Dresden. The Lancaster suffered an engine fire, and the crew abandoned the aircraft, which crashed at Joncourt. Six of the seven crew baled out successfully, but Sgt Preston did not survive the crash.
