In Hotton War Cemetery, Belgium, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 154703 Flying Officer Joseph Adam Patterson, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteeer Reserve, who died 31/12/1944.

Flying Officer Patterson was a Typhoon pilot with 182 Squadron. He was killed on December 31st 1944 in Typhoon 1B MN262, which was shot down by flak whilst attacking German tanks near St Vith.
