On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 1023575 Sergeant George Morrall, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 20/02/1943.

Sgt Morrall was killed when Short Stirling I BK627 WP-P of 90 Squadron was lost on a mission to Wilhelmshaven. The Stirling is thought to have crashed into the sea, with the loss of all seven crew members.

Stirling BK627 WP-P had departed Ridgewell at 1754 for Ops Wilhelmshaven
There are two possible claims for this loss:It was either engaged by Marine Flak Abt 272 Batterie Tossens, hit and shot down. The aircraft crashed in the Innenjade, Wilhelmshaven at 2003
Or It was engaged by Marine Flak Abt 272 Batterie Tossens, hit and shot down. The aircraft crashed into the Sea, 5km NE of Wilhelmshaven at 2018
